System: Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics
For this project I will be methodically developing an Olympics branding package, beginning with logo development. I was assigned a host city, Milano and Cortina, which will motivate my design choices based on research of the city and previous Olympic games.
Logo Ideation
Logo’s were inspired by cultural reference from both cities. For Milano I looked at the Milan Cathedral and Milan’s Fashion Week. For Cortina I referenced the mountainous region and skiing.
Top Two Picked Logo in Color
Final Logo
The final logo chosen represents Milan’s Fashion Week because it demonstrates fabric in motion. It also represents Cortina because it depicts the mountains and the movement of skiers; and of course the color palate represents the Italian flag.
